How To Apply Instructions

The Mithril Splint can be heated using a water bath or a heat gun.

Application

· The water bath should be heated to 70-75 degrees.

· To heat with a heat gun, use the heat gun on medium and hold the gum approximately 10 centimetres from the splint.

· The splint can be remoulded up to 10 times

· Please note: if the splint is over heated it will turn opaque become brittle and will not be fit for purpose.

· The limb should be protected by applying a layer of stockinette.

· Once the splint is softened and mouldable, apply it to the limb and mould it to the contours of the limb, a soft bandage can be applied to help with the moulding if preferred.

· Remove the splint from the patient and apply the straps, reapply the splint securely with the straps to ensure maximum comfort and stability.
